Lord SkekKel, Counselor and Conqueror.

I had promised this drawing to my fellow friend over a month and a half ago...
It took me forever into completing it, but I am quite proud of the outcome! ^^

It is the picture I feel my skeksis character, SkekLa the Illustrator, would have made if she had been requested by Lord Counselor SkekKel to make a flattering portrait of him.

Here we have him, standing tall and proud, facing the high wind of Thra's sunset as he steps on the skull of a fearsome beast, one of the many conquered and defeated by him through endless centuries and challenges.

The mountain behind his feet hides many secrets also: probably the mortuary remains of many rebels to the skeksis empire, and a pile of brilliant skulls polished by time...for if one would know how to crush a rebellion , that one would be the fierce and tall skeksis Counselor!

 The portrait was made on a classical epic pose, as to embellish and remark Lord SkekKel's most pleasant and fearsome features, and put a highlyght in his galliardry.

 The chosen colors are ancient looking and earthy, because I wanted this to seem a bit ancient and even worn by time,as if it was extracted from a scroll of the Crystal Castle's Great Library...

 It was drawn with pencil and inked by chinese ink and quill, latter painted over with acryics and color pencils.

Hopefully you'll like it!
It's not usual from me to make drawings with almost nonexistant linework, and wenting for semi-realistic style...
But I am proud of how this one looks!
